After fitting the frames correctly to your face we take precise measurements of your eyes and the frame using the latest 3D computerized measuring system (Visioffice).

This ensures that the lenses are placed in exactly the right place in your frames to optimize your vision correction. Precision designed modern lenses require accurate measurements that cannot be obtained using manual measuring methods.

We have just taken delivery of the newest version of the Visioffice which allows us to get even more accurate measurements to ensure that what we prescribe fits you like it should and improves your vision.

How do you use your eyes? Do you spend hours on a computer, read, do needlepoint, fish, golf, bike or run, etc.? We ask a lot of questions so we can offer solutions to help you SEE BETTER!

Which lenses should you choose for your vision and your viewing habits? There are thousands, if not millions of lenses, on the market and they are not all equal. We don't sell lenses that are designed or manufactured poorly. You want to see better and our objective is to find the best solution to make that happen. Sometimes there is a big price difference between the lenses that will work best for you; we explain how the differences will affect you. We believe that in order for you to make an informed decision you have to have all the information. It's our pleasure to provide that.

How well you see isn't just about getting a good eye exam. Modern lenses are a vast improvement over those produced just a few years ago. The improved accuracy in design and manufacture means you see incredibly well BUT very accurate measurements are required.

The frame needs to be the correct size and fit perfectly on your nose so your eye is positioned in the right place for you to see well. If you are looking through your lenses too high, two low, from too far away, too close, at an angle, or at one side of the optical center, you won't be able to see well!

The good news is that our skilled technicians know how to fit your glasses correctly and how and what to measure. The even better news is that this service is included at no additional charge when you purchase your glasses from us.!

Our technicians are assisted by the latest in high-tech computer-aided measuring devices: Visioffice2. The short video below shows how this works. The bottom line is that taking measurements with tape and ruler won't cut it. It's just not accurate enough.

Measurements taken with the Visioffice are painless and mean that the glasses you get from us fit and allow you to see clearly.

No matter what frames you choose, your visual and wearing comfort ultimately depends on selecting the right type of lenses. All lenses are not the same and to be honest the choice can be overwhelming. We'll show you what factors are critical and what you need to look out for when choosing your lenses.

In reality lenses and the material they are made from is, after an eye exam, is the most critical element in how well you are able to see.

Lens Treatment = Best Possible Vision for You

Light reflected off the surface of your lens results in a loss of brightness and decreased visual comfort due to disturbing reflections and blurred areas.

Non-glare lenses are treated with an extremely thin layer of coating that, depending on the degree, allows up to 99 percent of the light to pass through. It is recommended for sharp and optimal vision.

There are also special treatments, which block harmful "Blue Light" which has been linked to early onset of macular degeneration and sleep disorders. Blue Light occurs naturally and is part of the color spectrum but our exposure has increased significantly due to modern computer screens, TV screens, LED and CFL light sources. Whether you need vision correction or have perfect vision, sunglasses are essential. You wouldn't go out in the sun without putting on sunscreen and we don't understand why anyone would go out without protecting their eyes from harmful ultraviolet radiation (UV). Sunglasses are vital all year round protection.

Sunglasses will protect the eyes as well as the sensitive skin around your eye socket. UV protection will help to prevent skin cancer, cataracts, etc. Glare from reflections is another concern. Not only is this uncomfortable it can be extremely dangerous especially when driving a vehicle. We recommend polarized lenses as a good fit to practically everyone; ask about times when they should not be used.

Polarized lenses are designed to eliminate glare, the blinding refection’s from water and other horizontal reflective surfaces like glass and shiny cars. Glare blinds you to the point that the person on a bicycle, pedestrian, or object disappears. This is especially dangerous when driving. Glare is also uncomfortable and can cause headaches and migraines.

Whatever your style we have it!

The primary function of the frame is to hold the lenses in the correct position in front of the eyes and fit comfortably on your nose and ears. It needs to be able to yield adjustments but not bend so easily that it goes out of adjustment with normal use. In reality, the look is as important to most of us as the function. Unfortunately, there are frame manufacturers who actually make frames that cannot be correctly adjusted and are made with inferior materials. We do not sell such frames since they are not able to function correctly and allow you to see better.

Second LOOK - You may have heard about the frames we stock and the concept of having more than one look to go with different social settings. This is a fun way to actually use your back-up glasses rather than just have them sitting in a drawer.

That red purse doesn't really work with your purple dress, dress shoes don't work well on the golf course and don't "fit" your casual wardrobe well either - it's pretty much the same with eyeglasses and frames too. Instead of leaving your spare pair (you do have a spare don't you?) - in a drawer, and never using them unless you damage your primary glasses - create another look with a different style of frame. Rather than have a spare pair of glasses that don't have your most up-to-date prescription in them invest in some which do. A spare pair really is no good at all if you can't see as well as you can with your primary glasses or contacts! Find a frame that's a little different to your primary pair and plan on wearing them too.
